Robert Rigot (1929 - 2023)

Robert Rigot (1929–2023) was a French sculptor known for his work in various materials, including bronze and crystal. Born in Buxy, he grew up in a family of stonecutters and attended the Beaux-Arts de Paris. He won the Prix de Rome in 1954 and was a Villa Medici student from 1955 to 1959. Rigot was associated with Baccarat as an artistic counselor from 1966 to 1996 and received the Grand Prize from the Council of Europe in 1990 for his crystal works.
