The pietre dure top inlaid with a symmetrical geometric display of hardstones, above a frieze applied with a sprig-filled entrelac band over a panel inlaid with assorted desk accessories including an envelope inscribed, “Paris 11 April 1789”, the lower door with a guilloche-cast moulding and a panel inlaid with ribbon-tied flowering branches and vases within slender canted front corners on short cabriole feet.
