A rare and unusual Regency parcel gilt mechanical patent overmantel mirror. The outer frame is enriched at the corners with bronze patinated anthemia supported by scrolls against a sanded gilt ground. The inner frame is bordered with an egg and dart motif and retains its original mirror plate. The inner frame articulates to adjust the angle of reflection. The reverse bears the trade label’Freeman, carver, gilder, and looking glass manufacturer of London and Swan Lane, Norwich’.
