Japanned Tilt Top Occasional Table


An early Victorian red and gold lacquer occasional table. The circular top is bordered with a gilt classical motif framing an extravagant bouquet of flowers on a silver-gilt ground. The whole is supported on a turned baluster stem standing on a tripod base terminating in casters, all enriched with engraved gilt foliate ornament.
