This Antique French Extending Dining Table dates from the early 19th century under the reign of Charles X. The quality of the mahogany is truly exceptional. The two rounded D ends are made of the finest inch thick highly figured Cuban Mahogany.
The antique dining table extends to almost 5 meters with a concertina system that extends out to the full length. Both extensions of the antique table are fixed with large bolts and secured. Astonishingly, this allows for a long dining table with almost no legs and those that are there are cleverly arranged at 45 degrees to the ends.
Antique Extending Dining Table
This table is perfect for daily use closed with the wonderful rich timber showing, when extended a tablecloth would be used as at Windsor Castle, some examples of very well dressed D end extended dining tables are attached.
