Regency Carrera and Siena Marble Pedestal Column

A very fine early 19th-century pedestal column for the display of sculpture. The classically correct, slightly bulbous body is inlaid with Siena marble flutes into Carrera statuary marble, with turned Tuscan Doric capital and base. The square top rotates on a bronze peg.
