A Fine Sevres Porcelain Blue Celeste and Ormolu Mounted Mantel Clock


A rare and very fine 19th Century Napoleonic era Sevres Porcelain Mantel Clock, The richly chased ormolu gilt bronze body inset with 11 panels of porcelain with floral scenes, birds and figures within blue celeste borders and the clock face with Roman Numerals, each porcelain panel signed verso.
French, circa 1840

The bell striking movement (No.1936) is stamped with the monogram ‘LAGARDE a Pari’, and the clock has a Brocot escapement.
