The Greek god Asclepius, a deity associated with healing and medicine stands in robes holding a staff with a snake wrapped around it. After a Greek original from 4th century BC. The statue is of the Giustini-Neigebauer type, derived from a Late Classical archetype dating back to the end of the Vth century A.D. The original Roman sculpture housed in the Uffizi galleries, Florence.
