A vivid and highly decorative cinnabar longcase clock, the well-proportioned case has raised lacquer mouldings throughout and bevelled glass panelled sides. The beveled glass trunk door and matching base panel have beautifully executed lacquer panels , each depicting bucolic and court scenes in high relief.
The dome topped hood with overhanging cornice is flanked by gilt columns entwined with dragons in high relief.
The circular dial with Roman numerals and a silvered chapter ring with individually marked minutes has foliate spandrels. The movement is stamped with 17277.
