The antique wooden sculpture stands at 30cm tall and depicts Bacchus, the Roman god of wine and fertility. Bacchus is holding bunches of grapes, with vines in his hair and as clothing. He stands on a stepped plinth on which is a tall tub of overflowing grapes that supports him. This symbolises the abundance and fertility of the vineyards.
