Antique inspired Poems
The Whimsical Antiquary
In a quaint shop where time does twist and twine,
Sat an antique dealer, midst relics so fine.
Come hither, he cried, See this wondrous pair,
Twins of an age, beyond compare!
But lo! The customer, with a twiddle and a twirl,
Said, A single I seek, to set my heart awhirl.
For pairs, though fair, are terribly plain,
A singular marvel is what I wish to obtain!
Next a lone lamp, with a gleam so bright,
Caught the buyers eye, much to his delight.
But quick as a flash, his fancy did flip,
Oh, if only it had a mate, Id let my wallet slip!
The dealer, bemused, in his curious den,
Pondered the fancies of peculiar men.
With a Cheshire grin and a knowing nod,
He shuffled his antiques, peculiar and odd.
A chair, quite regal, with velvet embrace,
Stood proudly alone, with queenly grace.
Yet the buyer mused, with a ponderous frown,
Wouldnt two make a throne, for a king and Queen?
And so it went, in the antique shop,
Where wishes and whims did dance and hop.
For each item shown, the desire did switch,
Leaving the dealer to ponder which was which.
In this world of antiques, with stories untold,
The dealer, was patient and bold.
For in the play of wants, so capricious and queer,
Lay the charm of the trade, both far and near.
Thus, in the shop where time stands still,
The game of desire bends at will.
For in the land of the old, the rare, and the exceptional,
The hearts curious whims do playfully stroll.
Antiques Near Me
In London town, a treasure trove,
Of antiques rare from lands afar,
Parisian glamour, Texas bold,
Ohios warmth, and Clevelands charm.
From New Yorks hustle to Californias sun,
And San Franciscos foggy bay,
Georgian furniture, elegant and grand,
In stately homes it finds its way.
Antique lighting, table lamps aglow,
And chandeliers that shimmer bright,
Casting a warm and welcoming glow,
Through the darkest hours of the night.
Dining chairs, chairs, and armchairs too,
Each with a story to reveal,
Whispers of history, tales of the past,
As they adorn a room with timeless appeal.
Drinks trolleys, bar carts, a touch of class,
For cocktail hours with friends and kin,
A toast to memories, old and new,
As laughter fills the air within.
French antique furniture, oh so chic,
With intricate marquetry and gilt details,
Adding flair and grace to any space,
A touch of Parisian magic that never fails.
Chinese antique furniture, rich and bold,
With lacquered finishes and intricate carvings,
Telling tales of dynasties and ancient lore,
A window to a world so captivating.
English classics, timeless and refined,
With craftsmanship that stands the test of time,
A nod to tradition, a touch of grace,
In every curve, every line.
So let us marvel at these treasures rare,
Of antiques near me, from far and wide,
Each piece with a story, a history to share,
In London, New Orleans, Paris, Texas, and beyond, they reside.

A Carolean Coronation
Amidst the grandeur of Westminster's halls,
The Coronation of King Charles III & Queen Camilla calls,
Our third Carolean King of Great Britain & Northern Ireland,
A reign of splendour to come forth.
On May 6th, in regal attire,
Amidst trumpets and drums, and the crowd's desire,
The gilded horse-drawn carriage, with soldiers in tow,
Through the streets of London, the procession will go.
Hundreds of horses, in perfect array,
Marking the way on this momentous day,
As the cortege passes, lined with people galore,
Flags unfurled, fluttering in the winds of yore.
A moment in time, forever to be,
The coronation of Charles III, a sight to see,
A new chapter in the annals of history,
A reign of promise, a future of mystery.
May the trumpets blaze, and the drums resound,
As the King of Great Britain is crowned,
A day of joy, a day of pride,
As our Carolean King & Queen, take their stride.
