Baccarat is a French glassware manufacturer that has been producing exquisite glass pieces since the mid-18th century. Founded in the small French town of Baccarat, the company has become a symbol of luxury and elegance, with its glassware being featured in some of the world’s most prestigious homes and museums.

The history of Baccarat Glass is one of innovation and excellence. The company was founded in 1764 by the Bishop of Metz and established at Baccarat in Lorraine by decree of King Louis XV of France. He commissioned the company to produce glassware for the royal court. In the 19th century, the company began to expand its production, creating a range of glassware that included antiques/lighting/chand eliers/chandeliers, antiques/objet-de-luxe/social-objects/wares/stemware, bowls, and vases. The company also began to experiment with different techniques, such as the use of coloured glass and the production of intricate designs.

Today, Baccarat Glass is still renowned for its quality and craftsmanship. Its glassware is sought after by collectors and enthusiasts alike, and its pieces are highly sought after by museums and galleries around the world.
