England, circa 1850

A fine 19th century Chippendale mahogany armchair, the pierced splat with gothic arches and crisply carved acanthus scrolls, the shaped arms extending scrolled volutes above legs with blind fret work quatrefoils and gothic tracery, the tapering legs terminating in block feet and supported by a H-stretcher with a pierced trefoil.
