The Hollywood Regency era was a period of time during the 1920s and 1930s that was characterised by a glamorous, opulent style of decorating. This style was inspired by the luxurious interiors of the Hollywood movie stars of the day and featured bright colors, bold patterns, and lavish furnishings. The key architects and furniture designers of this era were William Haines, Dorothy Draper, and Donald Deskey.

William Haines was an American actor turned interior designer who was known for his bold and glamorous designs. He was the first celebrity designer and was credited with creating the Hollywood Regency style. His designs were often characterised by the use of bright colors, bold patterns, and luxurious materials.

Dorothy Draper was an American interior designer who was known for her use of bright colors and bold patterns. She was a major influence in the development of the Hollywood Regency style and was the first to use the term “Modern Baroque” to describe her designs. She was also one of the first to use lacquered furniture and to use wallpaper in her designs.

Donald Deskey was an American industrial designer who was known for his modernist furniture designs. He was a major influence in the development of the Hollywood Regency style and was one of the first to use chrome, glass, and plastic in his furniture designs. His designs were often characterised by the use of bright colors and bold patterns. He was also one of the first to use the term “Modern Baroque” to describe his designs.
