Delft pottery holds a revered place among European ceramics, prized throughout the 18th and 19th centuries for its lustrous blue and white decoration. This Delft table lamp, converted from a classic vase, reflects the enduring appeal of Chinese export wares, particularly the celebrated Kangxi designs, which influenced countless Dutch artisans. Its presence would grace a period-inspired library or a contemporary living space, and pieces of this calibre can be seen in institutional collections worldwide.

Notable Features:

  • Finely painted decoration: The vase exhibits meticulously hand-painted floral motifs in striking blue and crisp white, encapsulating the artistry of early 19th-century Delft pottery.

  • Distinctive Kangxi influence: The design references Chinese porcelain, featuring traditional scrolling foliage and balanced patternwork emblematic of the period’s cross-cultural exchange.

  • Exceptional form and rarity: It is unusual to find a single Delft vase of this generous scale presented as a table lamp, enhancing not only its practical use but also its collecting value.

  • Curated for today’s interior: Elegantly mounted for electric lighting, this Blue and White Delft table lamp serves as both a functional focal point and a heritage statement.

Collecting value is underscored by the lamp’s impressive scale and historical authenticity, perfect for collectors of nineteenth-century Delft ware, blue and white pottery, or those seeking to integrate antique lighting with refined taste. Suitable for display on a large console, desk, or side table, this Delft table lamp is certain to elevate any decorative scheme.
