A exceptional early 19th century mahogany writing desk, finished in on all sides, the top with two long drawers in the front and two dummy drawers in the back between a thumb moulding of gadrooning and beading, the top supported on double column legs standing on a base of scrolled acanthus terminating on scrolled acanthus feet. The interior of a drawer retaining the trade label of Mack, Williams and Gibton.
