England, c. 1820

A fine early 19th century Regency Hunt table, the half round top with a removable central panel opening to a rotating double decanter trolley, the top with lift out flaps for extra extension and raised on fine quality fluted and tapering legs on large brass castors.

With the central insert, this half round table is a spacious serving table or Side table for a dining room or Hall for instance.

This unusual design of table was intended to be used after a fox hunt, - (thus the name) the horseshoe shaped table would be positioned in front of a fireplace, the fire lit, the table could fit 10 comfortably to share two decanters of a spirits.

When not in use, the central panel is inserted and the table simply becomes a side table.
