A tall pair of early 19th century antique mahogany, ebony & gilt bronze mounted console or pier tables of exceptional quality, the highly figured mahogany tops with ebonised sides, the friezes with egg and dart mouldings and high quality chased and gilt bronze mounts, supported on scrolled zoomorphic monopodial legs with exuberant classical scrolled details carved in high relief forming the sides. (This ornament is also carved on the inside legs) The legs terminate in richly carved and detailed lion feet, on stepped bases with shaped central aprons. The backs are inset with mirror plates.
