This brass lantern is a superb example of Rococo Revival design, a movement which saw renewed interest in elaborate and voluptuous forms during the Victorian era. Comparable lanterns attributed to Hooper & Co are held in esteem for their blend of artistry and utility, and a closely related example was notably auctioned at Christie’s. Pieces of this calibre are highly sought after by collectors of antique chandeliers and period lighting, often treasured for both their historic significance and decorative appeal.

  • Ideal for a period interior or a curated lighting collection, this lantern provides both a striking decorative centrepiece and functional illumination.
