Willy Rizzo was a renowned Italian photographer and furniture designer, best known for his iconic images capturing the glamour and elegance of the 20th century. Born on October 24, 1928, in Naples, Italy, Rizzo's career spanned decades and encompassed various facets of visual arts, including photography, journalism, and interior design.

 

Rizzo's journey into the world of photography began at a young age when he received his first camera as a gift from his father. He soon developed a passion for capturing moments and telling stories through his lens. In the 1940s, he moved to Paris, where he honed his skills and established himself as a prominent figure in the world of fashion photography.

During his time in Paris, Rizzo's work caught the attention of prestigious publications such as Paris Match and Life magazine. Rizzo had a unique ability to capture the essence of his subjects, portraying them with a sense of intimacy and sophistication. In addition to his work in photography, Rizzo was also a talented designer. He collaborated with renowned furniture designers such as Gio Ponti and Carlo de Carli, creating elegant and timeless pieces that became synonymous with mid-century modern design.
