A fine quality William IV brass inlaid rosewood side cabinet in the Boulle manner with both partie and contra-partie boulle. In particular the work around the doors is in the 17th century Boulle manner. The top is probably not original and is a fine fossil marble.
England circa 1830

Height 36 inches
Width 48 inches
Depth 14 inches

The Regency period saw the burgeoning of a fashion for the marquetry named after Andre Charles Boulle of the Louis XIV. Cabinet makers Parker and Le Gaigneur gained particular fame. This piece seems particularly reminiscent of the work of Town and Emanuel
