A decorative Chinese bronze vase with cloisonné enamel ornament, later converted into a table lamp. The vase displays a classic baluster form with a gently waisted neck above a rounded body, richly decorated with floral roundels, scrolling foliage and geometric motifs executed in vibrant turquoise, cobalt blue, crimson, yellow and white enamels.
The dark patinated bronze ground provides a sophisticated contrast to the colourful cloisonné work, while the carefully arranged decorative bands draw inspiration from traditional Chinese decorative arts of the late Qing period.
