Fine 19th Century Vizagapatam Chess & Backgammon Set

A fine Anglo Indian folding gaming board with chess and backgammon. The exterior chess board measuring 35cm square with ivory and horn squares. The interior opening to a sandalwood playing surface inlaid with ivory and horn. The box closing with a silver catch and finished on the exterior with solid blanks of ivory with penwork ornament detailed in black laq.
