A striking ceramic vase of compressed baluster form, finished in a vivid blue crackle glaze and later converted for use as a table lamp. The richly coloured glaze exhibits an attractive network of crazing beneath a glossy surface, creating depth and texture across the body. The broad shoulders and gently tapering foot are characteristic of traditional Chinese jar forms, while the vibrant monochrome glaze recalls examples produced for both the domestic and export markets during the early to mid-20th century.
Now fitted with modern brass lamp mounts. The vase shows evidence of restoration, consistent with age and use.
