Lapis Lazuli Mounted Precious Coral Specimen

Since antiquity, corals in their natural form have been highly coveted for their unique beauty and rarity. Such specimens were prized possessions in the Kunstkammer of King Rudolf II, among other collections of the time. To find a red coral example like this in such exceptional condition is extremely rare and a testament to the skill of those who have cared for it over the years.

This particular coral specimen is mounted with a silver collar to a base of solid, gem-quality Lapis Lazuli. Lapis Lazuli is mined in the Badakhshan Province of northeastern Afghanistan and has been used in decorative objects for thousands of years. The combination of the rich red coral and the deep blue Lapis Lazuli creates a striking contrast that highlights the natural beauty of both materials.

With a height of 24cm, a width of 23cm, and a depth of 18cm, this coral specimen is a substantial piece that would be a standout addition to any collection. Its rarity, beauty, and unique history make it a valuable piece that would be highly prized by collectors and art enthusiasts alike.
